"Vitality shows in not only the ability to persist but the ability to start over " ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

With a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, I worked as an art director/graphic designer in various cities on the east coast for many years. While working in the fast paced design/advertising world at both large institutions, such as the National Gallery of Art, and smaller design studios and agencies, I knew I needed some balance in my life, so I began practicing yoga in 1997. I have been a devoted student since that very first class. For me, yoga is truly an artform. Art & design, whether beautiful or controversial, evoke our emotions from within, touching the senses, and that is what continually happens on the yoga mat as well.

After moving to Arizona, I received my yoga teaching certification in 2003, and became a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. My training was based on Anusara yoga, and I'm grateful to my original teachers, Jordan and Martin Kirk, for their continued inspiration and commitment to the practice. In 2005, I completed my advanced training with Jordan and Martin, along with Noah Mazé. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to practice and study with amazing, accomplished instructors such as Erich Shiffman, Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest, Paul Grilley, David Swenson, Judith Lasater and Mary Bruce.

My teaching style is an eclectic blend of the styles of yoga I have studied, including Anusara, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Yin and Restorative, weaving together the alignment principals, emphasizing the importance of the breath, and revealing the richness of yoga philosophy with thoughtful messages and inspiring music. I continually encourage my students to fully experience and enjoy the benefits and transformations yoga and meditation will provide.
